How to Prepare Basmati Jollof Rice Recipe
Below are the ingredients you will be needing to pepare basmati jollof rice
- Basmati rice
- Fresh tomatoes
- Fresh tatase (red bell pepper)
- Rodo
- Onions
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Curry
- Thyme
- Butter
- Bayleave
- Tin tomatoes
- Vegetable oil
- Beef stock
- Seasoning cube
- Salt
- Spring onions
Method on How to Prepare Basmati Jollof
- Blend your tomatoes/tatase/rodo/onion/ginger/garlic all together
- And boil it till it’s thick and set aside
- Dice some onions and set aside
- Open your tin tomatoes and set aside
- Put pot on fire and add vegetable oil
- Add your diced onions and allow it to fry a bit
- Add your tin tomatoes and fry it very well
- Add the boiled pepper and allow it to fry very very well
- At this point you keep on mixing it so it doesn’t get burnt
- Once it’s well fried Add your beef stock and some water
- Add curry and Thyme
- Add seasoning cube and salt to taste
- Add your bey leave and cover it to boil
- Then wash your rice and pour into the boiling sauce
- Cover it to cook
- Cut some onions round round, and some fresh tomatoes
- cut your spring onions
- Once the rice is almost ready, add your butter and the onion and tomatoes
- Cover it back for it to steam
- Yes your jollof will get burnt you will be turning it from time to time
- Then add your spring onions and stir it very well
- Your jollof rice is good to go.
