How to Prepare Gizdodo

Gizdodo is the combination of plantains and Gizzards (chicken Gizzards) and Plantains mixed in Pepper Sauce. This recipe is great for mid-week or weekend dinner because it’s so straightforward and of-course tasty. It can be eaten with jollof rice or fried rice or alone. Gizdodo is a simple dish that delivers great flavor with minimal effort.

Gizdodo Recipe

Below are the ingredients you will be needing to prepare Gizdodo

  1. Gizzard
  2. Plantain
  3. Tomatoes
  4. Habanero pepper(Rodo)
  5. Vegetable oil
  6. Onions
  7. Green pepper
  8. Red pepper
  9. Yellow pepper
  10. Carrots
  11. Seasoning cube
  12. Salt
  13. Green beans

Method on How to Prepare Gizdodo

  1. If the Gizzards you are using is big, cut them into 2 but if it’s small size then you can use it like that.
  2. Wash your Gizzards and season it with seasoning cube, salt and with onions.
  3. Then boil it and fry it and set aside.
  4. Blend your tomatoes pepper and onions then set aside.
  5. Cut your green pepper, yellow pepper, red pepper and carrots then set aside.
  6. Then dice some onions and set aside
  7. Put pot on fire
  8. Add vegetable oil
  9. Add the diced onions, Allow it to fry a bit
  10. Add your blended pepper and allow it to fry for some minutes.
  11. Then Add the fried Gizzards
  12. Add some round cut onions and some round cut tomatoes
  13. Let it boil for 2 minutes
  14. Add your fried plantain and mix together
  15. Get another fry pan and add a little vegetable oil
  16. Then pour all the cut vegetables Stir-Fry it together for just a few minutes
  17. Pour the vegetables into the Gizzards and plantain on fire
  18. And stir it together
  19. Add seasoning cube and salt to taste
  20. And you gizdodo is ready.
